IT’S THE WORLD’S LARGEST DANCE PARTY FOR PEACE--AND YOU’RE INVITED

ON SEPTEMBER 26th, 2009, OVER 1 MILLION PEOPLE IN MORE THAN 400 CITIES AND 65 NATIONS
WILL COME TOGETHER FOR 13th ANNUAL EARTHDANCE™ GLOBAL CELEBRATION.

The synchronized music & dance event supporting non-profit environmental and human rights organizations around the world.

Do you have plans for Saturday, September 26th, 2009? That’s when over 1 million world citizens in over 65 nations—along with millions of cyberspace attendees will join together for the 13th annual EarthDance--The Global Dance Festival For Peace. Solely through massive organic word-of-mouth momentum, EarthDance has grown into the world’s largest synchronized music and dance event supporting world peace, and has been called “the Live Aid for the new millenium.

As with every EarthDance, the 24-hour international festival is capped by a simultaneous moment of music and meditation at 4pm PST (12:00AM Greenwich Mean Time UK), when every event across the planet plays a special music track called the “Prayer for Peace” at exactly the same time. Midnight in London, Afternoon in San Francisco and sunrise over the Himalayas, the synchronized prayer is a profound moment of global connectivity.

The event’s mission is to unite world communities in support of non-profit humanitarian and peace-related causes, and foster an environment of peace and harmony throughout the global sphere. Since its 1997 launch (in 18 countries), this grass roots-fueled juggernaut has generated funds and support for non profit organizations across the world

Founded by producer, promoter, and musician Chris Deckker, EarthDance sprung out of the synergy he experienced infusing sustainable concepts into mainstream U.K. clubs in the 90ies. “The blueprint for EarthDance is simple,” he says. “Earthdance is a day when we can all join together using the universal platform of music to focus our combined intentions towards planetary peace. Earthdance translates an underground sense of community into festival-style hugeness, while building an international portal for peace.” In the spirit of welcoming participation on every level, Earthdance events range from thousands of attendees at festivals and clubs to families in their living rooms, with a significant percent of the proceeds from every event going to charity.

The monumental explosion so far of this planetary legion of inspired EarthDancers owes a great debt to the connective magic of the Internet, which has been an invaluable force in linking so many locations and inspired individuals over extended time and great distance. Deckker says, “Unlike major corporate charity events that are dependent on famous music celebrities for success, Earthdance continues to grow every year, fueled by the grass roots connectivity of the internet and the passion of global citizens who believe in world in peace.”

EarthDance International, is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. The annual EarthDance event is the primary funding source for EarthDance International and the charitable organizations it supports.
